The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program, alternatively referred to as the CSFP Program, belongs to the Department of Agriculture and partners with the Houston Food Bank to supply low-income families with proper supplement. This is a unique program and was tested in a number of states, including Texas, and is shown to provide benefits of social security. Studies show that when there is a shortage of finances, the poor tend to cut the food expense first; in turn, their health is affected. Therefore, the CSFP program was established to help to fulfill those needs.
