Vietnamese American Community Center

My Viet Mutual Aid Fund

Since its founding in 2000, all members of the Vietnamese American Center have enjoyed healthy living.
Our seniors have gone through the long time of work and now retired; it can be thought of as a social reward for the elderly and retired.  Even as their spirits are high, their physical state will begin to show signs of degradation.  In terms of psychology, the elderly are vulnerable to experiencing loneliness and abandonment.  It is in this context that the lives of older people often crumble. The Vietnamese American Community Center understands the psychological situation of the elderly and therefore often creates favorable circumstances to bring joy and hope to all members. In addition to outreach programs such as the exercising program, Yoga, Tai Chi, computer classes, photography classes, gardening… the Center also organizes festivals such as Tet, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and observes Grandparents’ Day.  Most recently, to help secure the financial aid of their children concerning funeral and burial expenses, the Center has established the My Viet Mutual Aid Fund, in order to help pay a part of funeral expense for who have are passed.  The fund is sponsored by contributors and donations; when needed, family members will receive $ 3,000 to pay for the burial.
