The Vietnamese American Community Center is always concerned about the health of all members of the community. Therefore, the Center has a partnership with doctors and other professionals in the health sector to enable it to help people understand how to prevent diseases as well as raise awareness about health problems, from eating to exercising. Organizations such as Christus Healthcare Mobile Unit and The Rose Clinic also help to service the community by providing free medical services to the low income people, available at the Center for their convenience. The Chritus Healthcare System, Mobile Unit has provided services such as blood tests and pressure, screenings for prostate cancer, and flu vaccinations for adults and children. The Rose Clinic provides breast cancer screenings for women who are over 40 and have no health insurance. Dr. Vu Phuc has also volunteered to help the administrative proceedings, giving doctors’ orders as well as inform when the detection of source of cancer is found. Dr. Le Quang Vinh, who has a license in family practice, helps to answer common questions about medical knowledge. Dr. Le Quang Danh assists people with problems pertaining to bones. Dr. Nguyen is an expert on internal organs, particularly the large intestine, and helps people to understand and prevent many serious diseases.
